Privacy Policy for the JTHOOR Platform

1 Who uses JTHOOR

JTHOOR is an educational platform aimed at students, and it also offers services to parents, teachers and schools. For children's accounts, the account is created or activated under a parent's supervision (through a simple in-app verification challenge before registration is completed) or through the educational institution, according to the registration method available in the app.

We do not ask a child to provide personal data that is not necessary to deliver the educational service.

2 The data we process

We collect the data needed to deliver the service, namely: the name or educational name used on the platform; account and sign-in information (email and password); the grade and the school or class when the account is linked to an educational institution; and learning data — activity and assignment results, attempts, time spent, and level of progress and mastery.

We may collect additional data only when a specific feature is enabled: the notification token (Push Notification Token) when notifications are enabled, and the conversation text when using the “AI Teacher” feature (detailed in section 5).

JTHOOR does not use children's data for targeted advertising, does not sell users' data, and does not use it to build advertising profiles.

3 Why we use the data

We use the data to the extent needed to operate the platform and present suitable content to the student, to save their progress and learning results, to personalise the learning experience, to enable the parent, teacher and school to view the information their permissions allow, to run security functions and prevent account misuse, and to send necessary notifications when they are enabled.

4 Children and privacy

We apply additional protection to children's accounts and seek to collect the least amount of data necessary to deliver the educational service.

We do not use a child's data for targeted advertising or behavioural marketing, and we do not make it available to unauthorised users. A parent may exercise the rights relating to their child's data in accordance with applicable laws and the account's creation method.

One explicit exception: when a student takes part in a competition within their school, their name, avatar and score are shown to the other participants in that same competition (the leaderboard) — this visibility is intended by the nature of the feature itself and includes no other information.

JTHOOR is classified as a “general education” app in which children's accounts are managed within the family under a parent's supervision (not within Apple's “Made for Kids” category) — a fixed decision of 2026-08-11, because the decision to subscribe and to manage the account rests with the parent, not the child.

5 Data sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal data and do not share children's data for advertising purposes.

We rely only on the following technical service providers, each of which receives only the data needed to deliver its specific service:

• Supabase — hosting, database and authentication; the core infrastructure of the platform.
• Expo (with the standard Apple/Google infrastructure beneath it for notification delivery) — the device and platform token (iOS/Android) only, with no name or email.
• Groq Inc. (United States of America) — privacy policy — a language model that composes the “AI Teacher” reply to the student's questions when they open the feature.

AI Teacher: an optional chat feature the student opens themselves to ask for an explanation or a hint. With each question, the question text and the lesson title are sent to Groq to compose a suitable reply — with no name, email or any personal identifier — and Groq does not retain the requests (per its API terms of use).

Tracking the student's progress and recommending the next step take place entirely inside the JTHOOR learning engine on our servers and are not sent to any external party. The texts of the student's conversations with the AI Teacher are stored with us to continue the dialogue across sessions, and are deleted when the account is deleted (section 8).

The JTHOOR platform — the app and the website — currently contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking tools (no Google Analytics or any similar library).

6 Data security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect data, including transferring data over encrypted connections, controlling access permissions, database-level access policies, and restricting access to data according to the user's role and relationship to the student.

Nevertheless, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

7 Data retention

We retain data for as long as needed to deliver the service, or for the period required by law or to protect the security of the platform.

When an account is deleted, we delete the data associated with it or make it unlinkable to the user, except for what must be retained for a legitimate legal obligation.

8 User and parent rights

Depending on the account type and permissions, the user or parent may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data.

Account deletion can be started from within the app via: Settings → Delete Account.

We also provide an out-of-app way to request deletion of the account and its associated data, via the account-deletion page on the JTHOOR website.

9 Notifications

The app may send educational notifications or account-related notifications when the user grants permission. Notifications can be disabled at any time from the device settings.

10 Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy as JTHOOR's services evolve or as legal or regulatory requirements change. The date of the last update will appear at the top of this page, and we will provide appropriate notice if the change is material.
